Italian authorities seize 4.3 tons of cocaine

07 June, 08:53 (ANSA) - BELGRADE, JUN 7 - The Economic and Financial Police
Unit of the Financial Police of Trieste, coordinated by the
District Anti-Mafia Directorate (Dda) at the Tribunal of
Trieste, have seized 4.3 tons of cocaine and they are carrying
out precautionary measures against 38 people between Europe and
Colombia. Almost 2 million euros in cash were also seized.
After the extradition to the United States of 'Otoniel', born Dario Antonio Usuga David, head of the criminal organization 'Clan del Golfo', today's operation inflicts another blow to the most important group among the 'narcos' of Colombian. Since this morning, over 60 members of the Financial Police have been carrying out precautionary detention orders against 38 people in Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Colombia. They are all accused of international drug trafficking. (ANSA).
